Two Thousand Stripling Warriors

This is one of my favorite scripture stories from The Book of Mormon. These two thousand young men offered to go to war so that their fathers who had made a covenant to never go to war again and had buried their weapons of war wouldn't have to break their covenant.
Their Captain was Helamen. One of my favorite scriptures during their story is found in Alma 56 verses 47 & 48. They read: 47 "Now they never had fought, yet they did think more upon the liberty of their fathers than they did upon their lives; yea, they had been taught by their mothers, that if they did not doubt, God would deliver them."
48 "And they rehearsed unto me the words of their mothers, saying: We do not doubt our mothers knew it.
