A couple of things that stood out to me the most from President Eyrings talk was the following:
1. "Heavenly Father taught you before you were born about the experiences you would have as you left Him and came to earth. You were taught that the way back home to Him would not be easy. He knew that it would be too hard for you to make the journey without help.
You have been blessed not only to find the way to make those covenants in this life but also to be surrounded by others who will help-who, like you, are covenant daughters of Heavenly Father."
I have had so many wonderful women in my life who have been wonderful examples of covenant women and followers of Christ. They have helped shape me into the person I have become and there are many who are shaping me now to become the better person.
I have had many wonderful Young Women leaders who helped push me just enough not to push back to better myself. I have also had wonderful sisters in the Relief Society whom I look up to and admire and make it so that I want to be a better person.
How truly blessed we are to have the Savior's presence in our lives and to have wonderful friends, ward members and family members who truly want what is best for us.
2. "He expects you to treat every person you meet as a child of God. That is the reason He commands us to love our neighbors as we love ourselves and to forgive them. Your feelings of kindness and forgiveness toward come as your divine inheritance from Him as His daughter. Each Person you meet is His loved spiritual child.
As you feel of that great sisterhood, what we thought divides us falls away.
You are more alike as daughters of God than you are different."
How true is that last statement is, we are more alike then different. If we truly take a moment to step back and think about it. We are all sisters and we are all children of God. How boring would it be if we all were similar and had similar likes? With our different likes and interest we help balance each other out and help us come together more.
The words to "As Sister's in Zion" came to mind.
1. As sisters in Zion, we'll all work together;
The blessings of God on our labors we'll seek.
We'll build up his kingdom with earnest endeavor;
We'll comfort the weary and strengthen the weak.
2. The errand of angels is given to women;
And this is a gift that, as sisters, we claim:
To do whatsoever is gentle and human,
To cheer and to bless in humanity's name.
3. How vast is our purpose, how broad is our mission,
If we but fulfill it in spirit and deed.
Oh, naught but the Spirit's divinest tuition
Can give us the wisdom to truly succeed.
We as sister naturally strive to cheer, bless and lift those around us. It is part of our nature and can be a wonderful blessing to many around us.
3. "I have a sure witness that God the Father watches over you in love. He loves each of you. You are His daughters in the covenant. Because He loves you, He will provide the help that you need to move yourself and others upward along the way back to His presence."
I hope that we as sisters and even brothers can be an instrument in the Lord's hand to be there to lift and guide those who are needing our blessing and example to help them fulfill their potential and to return to our Fathers presence.
We truly are a marvelous generation and are truly blessed with a living Prophet and Apostles.
